DNA analysis has gradually become a tool thanks to which thousands of people interested in their health and body functioning improve their lifestyle. April 25th is marked as DNA Day. Join us in the wave of using modern technologies in the field of preventive medicine and personalized healthcare.
How did International DNA Day come about?
On this day, we commemorate two important historical events that significantly contributed to a better understanding of our DNA.
The first of these took place in 1953, when two scientists, James Watson and Francis Crick, first accurately described the structure of the complex DNA molecule. Thanks also to important discoveries by other scientists, they discovered that DNA has a double-helix structure. This was a major milestone in the history of science, which in the following years led to a better understanding of the importance of DNA knowledge for our lives.
The second event took place in 2003, when the Human Genome Project was completed. This project was very extensive and involved many scientists. It cost hundreds of millions of dollars and was very time-consuming, as it was only completed after a long thirteen years. However, it was worth it, as for the first time, almost complete genetic information responsible for the creation and functioning of a human being was read.
Why does it make sense to know your genetic predispositions?
Today, DNA analysis is available to anyone interested in health, an active lifestyle, and prevention. Prevention is often underestimated, even though it is one of the most important ways to avoid health complications or catch them early.
The results of DNA analysis will not only help you with prevention, but will also allow you to get to know your body to a degree that was unimaginable just a few years ago. You will know how to eat more effectively, in which type of physical activity you will progress faster, and even whether you can have a coffee at six in the evening and not worry about falling asleep. Knowing your DNA is not just about being informed. It is a lifestyle that everyone who wants to make conscious decisions beneficial to their health and body should jump on. See what DNA analysis results look like in our DEMO account.
Finding out your genetic predispositions is easy
Taking a DNA test is easier than ever. After ordering online, we will deliver a collection kit to you. The DNA sample collection itself is painless and quick. The sample is then delivered to us by a prepaid courier, from where it travels to the laboratory. We process the raw data from the analysis and within five weeks you will find the results uploaded in digital form in your account.
